For over 20 years, Les Barnes has worked hard to build his career as the successful salesperson he is today. Specialising in rural and lifestyle real estate in Albany, Les has enjoyed the many years experience and has a wealth of knowledge to share with you.
Prior to real estate Les was employed as a sales representative in the pharmaceutical industry in Australia and New Zealand, and later owned a small contract packaging company. His background has enabled him to develop effective skills including the ability to be comfortable meeting people on a professional basis.
In 1984 Les decided to go into real estate and was attracted to the business because it offered the opportunity of being self employed in an industry where income is in direct proportion to effort. Les was motivated to join Barfoot & Thompson as they are a large network, one big company and because they have big opportunities to achieve sales.
Les has lived rural since 1977 and since then he has carried out a number of subdivisions of rural land. His personal experience buying and selling property gives him first hand knowledge of the rewards property can bring as well as extensive insight into industry. He works alongside buyers and sellers, providing solid advice and guiding them through each stage of the process.
Les loves the Albany area as it is laid back and most of the rural people have an easy going attitude.
Les would be pleased to help with your property needs. Please contact him to see how he can help with your next property move.

Paul entered real estate in 2004 and teamed up with his daughter Sharee as a successful “Father/Daughter Team”. Beginning as a salesperson in Mairangi Bay, they then moved to Browns Bay before Paul was appointed Branch Manager of the Coatesville, Kumeu and Helensville branches in 2013.
Paul was one of New Zealand’s first professional race and rally drivers and him and his team won three separate New Zealand championships in the early 80’s. Paul has always enjoyed both flying and motorsport and is a past president of both the North Shore Aero Club and the Hibiscus Coast Motorsport Club.
Prior to real estate, Paul owned a manufacturing company called “Adams Productions”. This business on the shore was well known for its clotheslines, playground equipment and fencing. As well as this, Paul owned a motor dealership called “Paul Adams Motors” in Albany.
It’s perhaps this competitiveness that motivates Paul to ensure his team of salespeople achieve the very best result for your property. One of Paul’s favourite sayings is “the best is only just good enough” which is something Paul always aims to work towards.
Paul has lived on Auckland’s North Shore most of his life. He and his wife Sue have four adult children and ten grandchildren.
Barfoot & Thompson is a fantastic family company that Paul loves being a part of. It has a culture of honesty and Integrity, producing results in real estate many can only envy. Our experienced staff would love the opportunity to discuss how they could help you achieve your real estate goals.

"I would want an agent that was creative, a thinker, a doer and a communicator. I would want someone who actually does what they say they will. Are we thinking the same? At the end of the day, is this something that matters to you?"
Stuart Handley's unique work life has broadened his knowledge, shaped his outlook and honed his skills. There aren't many people who've started a university degree at the age of thirty-six and graduated three years later with a commerce degree.
"If you could see some of my life in pictures, you would see a soldier - tall and proud; a farmer with calloused hands; a horseman with the famous DB Clydesdale Team; a residential property valuer and a RSPCA inspector. You would also see an author of thriller books but the picture most fresh in your mind would be a person of integrity standing before you with a friendly smile and extending his hand. I'm Stuart, real-estates salesperson with Barfoot and Thompson, and I want to make a positive difference for you."
