After graduating from Auckland University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, I spent a couple of years working overseas. Upon my return, I assisted my family in building up their business, and using my accounting and business knowledge, I took an ailing company and transformed it into a very profitable venture.
Always keen to try new challenges, I joined the Sales team of a New Zealand trading bank. Due to my success in that position, I was promoted and took on a role which involved a variety of international travel, with a focus on Australia and Asia. This position required assertive techniques of persuasion, excellent negotiation skills and the ability to read body language, all assets I possess. From this time spent working abroad, I gained invaluable experience in appreciating the different values of distinct cultures.
I am a determined person, I always give everything I do the very best shot. I came to New Zealand 27 years ago without speaking a word of English, still I completed a Commerce degree and worked as a Chartered Accountant.
